The Clean Rivers project is DC Water's ongoing, $2.6 billion effort to reduce the flow of sewage and stormwater into the Anacostia and Potomac Rivers. Beginning in 2015, the Clean Rivers Project mandate was augmented to encourage the implementation of green infrastructure.
From 2015-2018, Wayside principal Curry Hackett was invited to develop a suite of visual materials to aid in the public understanding of the vastness and importance of the Clean Rivers Project. His contribution included art direction for direct mail publications, presentation boards, maps, and various diagrams of the technology being implemented both above and below ground.
These visuals have been published as supplementary materials in academic journals, conferences, and educational campaigns for stormwater mitigation practices.
